7 Essential Oils for Stress and Anxiety

These days there's so much uncertainty and fear waving around.  We have all experienced a little or alot of anxiety at some point.  There's help!  Essential oils can help to soothe you and keep you on track. 

Aromatherapy treatment is the act of breathing in the fragrance of essential oils to progress your well-being. One way they work is that by invigorating the scent receptors in your nose, they can send messages to your nervous system. They are also thought to have an impact on the body’s chemical and energy centers. Fragrance based treatment is frequently utilized as a normal remedy to diminish uneasiness and stress.

 Here's some of my faves:

 

 Lavender- helps to calm anxiety by affecting the limbic system, the part of the brain that controls emotions.

Jasmine- can promote a sense of well-being and romance.  Jasmine oil is thought to calm the nervous system without causing sleepiness like other relaxing oils.

Tulsi/Holy Basil-  adaptogenic herb that can be helpful in treating physical and mental stress.

Sweet Basil- helps calm the mind and relieve stress. The phenol compounds in sweet basil oil help relieve anxiety. These compounds were found to be less sedating than the anxiety medication diazepam.

Chamomile- has relaxing and sedating properties helps with anxiety

Frankincense-helps ease anxiety

Lemon Balm- has a fresh, uplifting aroma and a soothing, restorative effect. May help people with mild to moderate anxiety disorders. It may also improve sleep.
